Fannie Elizabeth Davis Obituary
Seymour Daily TribuneFannie Elizabeth Davis, 82, Commiskey, died at 8:31 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital, North Vernon.
Mrs. Davis attended Deputy School and was employed with Muscatatuck State Developmental Center for 26 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1978. She was a member of Senior Citizens in North Vernon and Commiskey Baptist Church. She attended United Christian Church at Paris Crossing.
Born July 15, 1919, in Jefferson County, she was a daughter of General Grant Creech and Rebecca Eely Creech. On Nov. 22, 1936, in Jefferson County, she married Elzie Davis, who died May 13, 1980.
Survivors include two sons, Elzie Harold Davis, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Ralph Davis, Columbus; three daughters, Joyce J. Baker, Mooresville, Nancy K. Hendershot, Prattville, Alabama, and Linda J. Davis, Blackstone, Massachesetts; four grandsons, Kevin Baker, Springfield, Missouri, Dwight Baker, Mooresville, Brendan Davis, Columbus, and Greg Davis, Bloomington; two granddaughters, Brooke Davis, Denver, and Pamela Roberson, Prattville, Alabama; a sister, Dorothy Finch, Deputy; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman Creech, Sheridan Creech and Golden Creech; five sisters, Ollie Angel, Naomi Halterbaum, Della Nay, Lela Merrick and Laura Jane Creech; and three infant siblings.
The Rev. Damon Marling will conduct services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
