Don E. DeHart, 73, passed away at 12:32 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Johnson County Memorial Hospital, Franklin.
Mr. DeHart was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 205 in Franklin, Shuffle Board Club in Bradenton, Florida, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association and was active in Dollars for Scholars at Indian Creek High School.
Born September 20, 1937, in Clark Township, Johnson County, he was the son of Herman "Mike" DeHart and Mary Teresa Gallagher, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 4, 1960, he married Kay Urbancic, who survives in Franklin.
Other survivors include one daughter, Teresa Tribble, New York, N.Y.; six sons, Donald DeHart II, Merritt Island, Florida, Stephen P. DeHart and Michael A. DeHart, both of Franklin, Mark A. DeHart, Brownstown, Paul D. DeHart, Atlanta, Georgia, and David J. DeHart, Franklin; one sister, Rosemary Sowders, Bargersville; brothers, Russell DeHart, Bradenton, Florida, Joseph E. DeHart, Trafalgar, Herman E. DeHart, Georgetown, Texas, and John W. DeHart, Franklin; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Delores, and one brother, George F. DeHart.
Father John Beitans will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Franklin. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
