Kathleen (Dillman) Ault Downing Obituary
Tribune - March 12, 2010Kathleen Ault Downing, 72, Norman, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Hoosier Christian Village after a 3½-month illness.
Mrs. Downing retired from Brownstown Central Schools as a school bus driver.
She was a member of Liberty Christian Church and was a big helper with the Youth Group at Liberty Christian Church and also had snacks for the kids.
Born February 28, 1938, in Ewing, she was the daughter of James E. Dillman and Mary G. Hounshell Dillman, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 14, 1955, in Brownstown, she married John W. Ault, who preceded her in death March 17, 1998. On November 14, 2004, in Norman, she married Robert W. Downing, who survives.
Other survivors include children, Gerald L. Ault, Norman, Geraldine Boling, Kentucky, and Kay (Danny) Fisher, John (Sylvia) Ault, Kathy Gorbett and Herb (Dianna) Ault, all of Norman; stepchildren, Robin Downing, Angie Russell and Vicki Caudill, all of Seymour; sisters, Mary Alice Brown, Fredericksburg, and Virginia Fern Embry, Salem; 23 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jackie D. Ault; one stepson, Toby Downing; and two brothers, Clyde E. Dillman and James E. Dillman.
Ron Plumer and Kenneth Fisher will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia. Burial will take place at Wheeler Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
