Edna Marie Hyland Drake, 85, of Vallonia and formerly of Anderson, died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at
Scenic Hills Healthcare, Ferdinand.
Mrs. Drake was a homemaker.
Born September 2, 1921, in Cleveland, she was a daughter of James and Annie Bennett McCord, both of whom preceded her in death. In
Anderson, she married John Richard Hyland, who died in 1959. On June 27, 1964, in Anderson, she married Orson Robert Drake,
who survives at Vallonia.
Others survivors include three children, Elizabeth Ann Hyland (Myron) Randolph, Santa Claus, Michael James (Sharon) Hyland,
Brimington, Washington, and Richard Lewis (Tammy) Hyland, Rockport; four stepchildren, Robert (Sandra) Drake, Greenfield,
Gary (Jan) Drake, Fortville, Richard (Mary) Drake, Madison, and Mark Drake, Fortville; a brother, Ralph McCord, Jamestown,
Rhode Island; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harry Thomas Hyland, and a daughter, Patricia Sue Hyland Fisher.
The Rev. John Young will conduct a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Memorial Park.
Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia, is in charge of arrangements.
