Edna Anna Amelia Moorman Dye Obituary
Seymour TribuneEdna Anna Amelia Moorman Dye, 100, Seymour, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, November 27, 2008, at the Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.
Mrs. Dye was a 1927 graduate of Cortland High School and a graduate of Indiana Business College. She was a supervisor for the Indiana Telephone Company for 17 years and was active in the Seymour senior citizens group. She also served as a former board member of the Lutheran Community Home. Mrs. Dye was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Borchers, where she served on the Mary Martha Circle.
Born May 7, 1908, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of August and Elizabeth Stockamp Moorman, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Byferd J. Dye on April 25, 1935, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1974.
Survivors include her two sons, William R. Dye, Fairfield, Calif., and the Rev. James E. (Lynn) Dye, Indianapolis; her daughter, Jacqueline (Larry) Schultheis, Seymour; seven grandchildren, Christine Dye, Tamara Dye, Jody Schultheis (Chris) Kaufman, James "Jamie" (Dara) Dye, John Schultheis, Tim (Sarah) Dye, Kristin Dye (Mike) Mendel and nine great-grandchildren, Blake Schultheis, Belhamie Walls, Meghan Mendel, Julia Dye, Sarah Kaufman, Jeana Dye, Kari Mendel, Tyler Dye and Clara Dye.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frieda and Alice Moorman; one brother, Roy Moorman and a daughter-in-law, Aurora Dye.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Borchers. Burial will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, at the church.
