Daily Commercial, September 12, 1899 Tuesday. Elder Thomas
Addinton, was born in Chester, Wayne Co., December 5, 1829 and moved to
Randolph co., Indiana at the age of 4 years. He was a Volunteer,
Private in Co. A. of the 84th Indiana, serving 14 months then was promoted to
Chaplain and served 5 months. He preached his first sermon in February
1848, and ordained August 1848 at Beaversville, Ohio. Rev. O.S.
Green who was born in Oswego Co., New York in 1834 and was converted in
Medina Co., Ohio in 1852 and joined the Methodist church and then licensed to
exhort. He settled in Recovery Twp., of Mercer Co., Ohio in 1865 where
he now lives. He volunteered during the Civil War, serving one
year. In 1867, he united with the Noble Church of Christ. He has
organized five churches and served in 8. He preached for Bethel, 25
yrs., Noble 10 yrs, Wabash, 6 yrs, Ft Recovery, 3 years and Fellowship, 2
yrs. |
