| Dr. J. J. Kidder's baby book: Dr. Kidder practiced in south eastern Jay County, office in Salamonia, Madison, Township, from 1896 to 1954 when he died. He delivered babies in Jay County, Randolph County, Indiana, Darke County, and Mercer County Ohio. Included in his records consistently was the father's name, mother's maiden name, babies name and birth date, time of birth, place of birth, child's position in the family, i.e. 1st, 3rd etc. Other information included but inconsistently was parent's place of birth, father's occupation, babies weight and length.
