Special Service) Smallpox Developed While George Gough Was Moving
From Anderson to Bryant, Ind. Portland, Ind., Dec. 26.- Suffering from the
smallpox, the six members of the family of George Goff, formerly of this
city, are scattered about over the eastern part of the state. Mrs. Goff
is suffering from the infection in a hospital in Anderson. Goff and two
of his children are quarantined at the home of Mrs. Caroline Haffner, in
Bryant. Their household goods, which were being shipped from Anderson
to Bryant, are held up by the health officers in one of the freight depots in
this city. The Goffs were moving from Anderson to Bryant when the small-pox developed |
