The Muncie Morning Star Monday, December 12, 1904 Transcribed by DJ Faust, DEFLEUR@prodigy.net PIONEER FAMILY OF JAY COUNTY NUMBERS 10 AND IS
ROOSEVELTIAN IN SIZE AND POLITICS (by Star Special Service) LARGE PHOTO 6 1/4" WIDE BY 4" TALL Caption under photo: ISAAC DAVIS AND HIS
NOTABLE FAMILY Portland, Ind., Dec 11.- Jay county is a
comparatively young county and few of its citizens have been residents for
sixty-five years. Isaac Davis goes that period just one year better, he
having lived here sixty-six years. He is past 70 years of age, was born
in Washington county, Ohio, and cast his first vote for John C. Fremont for
president. Mrs. Davis, to whom he was married the year he cast his first
vote, was formerly Miss Mahala Campbell. The Davis family is thoroughly
Rooseveltian, both in size and political sympathies, and the accompanying
picture includes the likeness of every member. |
