Service) Insane Woman, Through Guardian, Files Suit in Jay
County Court. ATTEMPT TO SAVE PROPERTY Alleged She Was of Unsound Mind at Time of Marriage
and Transfer of Land. Portland, Ind., Dec. 30.- Mrs. Jane Brown, of
Jackson township, today brought suit in the Circuit court, through her
guardian, Albert Brunson, asking the annulment of her marriage to Daniel E.
Brown, which occurred last October. Mrs. Brown alleges that she was of unsound mind at
the time of the marriage and incapable of entering into a marriage contract. At the time of her marriage to Brown the woman deeded him her $10,000 farm and other property, which resulted in her children bringing suit to establish unsoundness of mind. On the strength of this land conveyance the jury declared her insane, and Albert Brunson was appointed guardian. It was expected that suit would be instituted at once to set aside the conveyance, but it appears that Mrs. Brown has decided to play on the winning side by asking an annulment of marriage as a step toward regaining possession of the farm. |
