ARA RARICK died of cancer Wednesday at his home in Parker, Randolph county, at the age of about thirty-eight years. He has been suffering from the disease for many weeks and his life was despaired of several days since.
He was a native of Jay county, born in Pike township, and a son of Dr. I. N. Rarick. He attended the common schools of Pike and the Normal at Ridgeville and later taught for several years in his native township. He taught out the unexpired term of the late Otis G. Rayn as principal of the Portland high school and then returned to Pike township where he again taught at Bluff Point, leaving there for Redkey where he engaged in the drug business with Dr. J. S. Pierce. From there he went to California and spent a year or two in San Francisco. Returning from the Pacific coast he bought a drug store at Parker which he owned at the time of his death.
He was married while at Redkey to Miss Kate Ritter and she with two children survived him.
