Death Came Sunday Eve - Stroke of Apoplexy Fatal to Mrs Caroline
Nelson - Funeral Tuesday. Mrs. Caroline Nelson, who early Saturday morning was
found unconscious by her Daughter-in-law, Mrs Richard Nelson, off the northeast
part of the city, whith whom she resides, died Sunday evening at 5:30 o'clock.
She was ninety-three years, five months and thirteen days old. The cause of her
death was an attack of apoplexy suffered sometime Friday night Her husband,
Samuel Nelson, has been dead forty-one years. She is survived by the following
children: William Nelson, Richard Nelson, with whom she lived, Mrs. Mary Lyons
of Ft. Recovery, Ohio, and Mrs. Martha Brow[n] of Hartford City. The funeral
services will be conducted Tuesday Afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. Fred.
Stovenour, at Kidder Chapel. Interment will be at Green Park cemetery.
*Caroline Childers was born 19 February 1816 in Virginia, the daughter of Shadrick Childers and Julia Ward. She married Samuel Nelson on 21 March 1839 in Jackson County, Ohio
