LONG ILLNESS ENDS IN DEATH
Clara V. Maxwell Passes Away This Morning; Funeral Monday.
Clara V. Maxwell, 62, lifelong resident of Jay county, died Saturday morning at 1:15 o'clock at the family home, twelve miles southeast of Portland. She had been ill for the past eighteen months and serious the past six months. Mrs. Maxwell was born December 29, 1975 in Pike township the daughter of Plina and Nancy (Harkins) Bickel. She was married to George Maxwell, who survives.
Other survivors are one son, Walter Hardy of Portland; one daughter, June Maxwell, at home; three stepsons, Leo and Harold Maxwell of Portland; Eldon at home; one step-daughter, Lelia at home; two brothers, Seymour Bickel of Millersburg, Pavey Bickel of Portland; one sister, Mrs. Dan Knoll of College Corner and six grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Baird funeral home and was returned to the residence this afternoon.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Antioch church. Rev. J. H. Nall will officiate. Burial will be made in Green Park Cemetery.
