CYRUS STEPHEN, age 78, lifelong resident of Jefferson township,
died at his home Saturday evening. Mr. Stephen was a retired carpentar and served as township assessor for 12 years.
Survivors are two sons; Gilford Worthy Stephen, of
Michigan; Kelly Stephen, at home, former county surveyor; four
daughters, Virgin Stephen, of Hillsdale, Michigan; Virgie Stephen, of
Portland; Miss Goldie Ireland, of Pennville; Mrs. Lora
Williamson, of Cammack, Indiana; four brothers, Jim Stephen, a patient
at the Portland hospital; Dale Stephen and Sam Stephen, northeast of
Redkey; Roe Stephen, of Redkey; two sisters, Mrs. Add LaFollette,
north of Redkey; and Mrs. William Rautsau, of Eaton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock
at the Redkey Christian Church. Interment will be made in the
Stephen cemetery, northeast of Redkey. The Jones Funeral Home of
Redkey is in charge of the arrangements.
