Funeral services for ED F. BELL, who
died at South Bend, Tuesday, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00
o'clock from the Portland U.B. church. The pastor, Rev. J.H. Nall, will
officiate. Interment will be made in Green Park cemetery.
The deceased was a former resident of this county, leaving last spring for South
Bend, where he had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Dora Upp. Death was
caused from flue and complications.
He was a son of Lewis M. and Polly (Jones) Bell, and was born in Jay county,
January 4, 1873, being aged at the time of his death, 56 years, 8 months and 13
days. He was preceded in death by his wife, formerly Cora Fetters, April 19,
1927.
He is survived by the following children: John Bell, whose whereabouts is
unknown; Mrs. Dora Upp, at whose home he died; Blanche and Margaret Bell, of
Redkey and Mabel, Charles and Kenneth Bell, of South Bend. Five grandchildren
also survive.
