 Florence Loy Dies On Sunday 

Funeral from Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church Tuesday Afternoon 

   Florence Rosetta Loy, wife of Nelson Loy, died at 6:40 o'clock Sunday morning of tuberculosis at the home of her brother-in-law, Walter Loy, seven miles northeast of Portland.  She had been in failing health since one year ago last spring following an attack of influenza and serious one week. 

   The deceased was a lifelong resident of Jay county, being born September 30, 1868, the daughter of Spencer and Clarinda Joan (Smith) Loy (sic), both deceased, and was 66 years, 11 months and 4 days of age at the time of her death. She was united in marriage April 10, 1897, to Nelson Loy, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Loy have been making their home with Mr. Loy's brother for the past seven weeks. 

   Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: James Smith, of Noble township; Mrs. Ruth Nelson of Portland; Esther, wife of Jack Skinner of Bearcreek township; Ozro Smith, of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; Marion Smith of Vincentown, N.J.; Everett Smith of Philadelphia, Pa.; and Ada, wife of Raymond Shepherd, of Thee Oaks, Mich.  The parents, four daughters, two sisters and two bothers preceded her death. A boy, John Morris Peirson, 18, was taken to raise when six years of age and also survives. 

   The body was removed to the Williamson and Son Shadow Lawn funeral home and prepared for burial and was taken to the home of Walter Loy yesterday afternoon. 

   Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Pleasant Ridge church in charge of Rev. C. W. Walmer.  Interment in Green Park Cemetery.
