Francis H. Stoner died at his home, one half mile southwest of Salamonia, at 5:30 o’clock Sunday night.  Death was due to cancer, with which he had been afflicted for the last several years.  His condition had been serious for about three weeks. 

   Deceased was born in Preble county, Ohio, Nov. 2, 1846, and was aged 85 years 6 months and six days.  He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Loy) Stoner.  His wife was Matilda Bibler, who died Jan. 30, 1928. 

   Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Runkle, south of Fort Recovery, O., and the following children:  William E. Stoner, Clarence M. Stoner, Marion, O.;  Arley I. Stoner,  Henry G. Stoner,  Mrs. Cora Whittaker, wife of Samuel Whittaker.  Three sons are deceased.  There are 35 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren surviving.  A brother, Louis Stoner, was 87 years of age when his death occurred March 11, of this year. 

   The body was removed to the Williamson Shadow Lawn funeral home and will be taken to the late home today, where it will lie in state until the funeral, which will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist church of Salamonia, Rev. S.A. Armstrong officiating.  Burial in the Salamonia cemetery
