Francis H. Stoner died at his home, one half mile southwest of
Salamonia, at 5:30 o’clock Sunday night.
Death was due to cancer, with which he had been afflicted for the last
several years. His condition had
been serious for about three weeks.
Deceased was born in Preble
county, Ohio, Nov. 2, 1846, and was aged 85 years 6 months and six days.
He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Loy) Stoner.
His wife was Matilda Bibler, who died Jan. 30, 1928.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs.
Elizabeth Runkle, south of Fort Recovery, O., and the following children:
William E. Stoner, Clarence M. Stoner, Marion, O.;
Arley I. Stoner, Henry G.
Stoner, Mrs. Cora Whittaker, wife of
Samuel Whittaker. Three sons are
deceased. There are 35 grandchildren
and 11 great grandchildren surviving.
A brother, Louis Stoner, was 87 years of age when his death occurred
March 11, of this year.
