Clipping hand dated 1/24/69

Portland - Fred Sherman, 79, a former Jay County resident, died at his home in Largo, Fla., Friday evening.  He had worked for Nickel Plate Railroad when in Portland.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lee Lilley, Pottstown, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Bailey and Mrs. Viola Smith, both of Portland, Mrs. Florence Bone, Bay City, Mich.; and Mrs. Alva Fulds, Saratoga; five brothers, Ronald and Lewis Sherman of Merrill, Mich., Lawrence of Dearborn, Mich., Marion of Tavares, Fla., and Rupert of Clearwater, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home where friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday.  Rev. Morgan Roberts will officiate at the services with burial to follow in Green Park Cemetery
