George Geisler Dies at Hospital



George W. Geisler, 79, 315 E. Charles St., died Monday at Ball Hospital.  He was born in Redkey where he was a member of the Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge.  He came to Muncie from Redkey as manager of the old Kuhner's Meat Market.


In 1916 he formed a partnership with his father, Charles Geisler, and opened Geisler's Meat Market at Main and Elm streets, which he operated until retiring.


During the war years Mr. Geisler was a U.S. government meat inspector for the Kuhner Packing Co.


Surviving are his wife, Bessie; two brothers, Howard, Bartlesville, Okla., and Ralph, Waco, Tex.; and a sister, Mrs. Bess Maurer, Toledo, Ohio.


Friends may call at the Piepho Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Services will be there at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.  Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery
