  MRS. IDA MAE BURDG, 77, widely known Portland resident, who lived in (sic) West Walnut street, died Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Grand View Hospital in Dayton, O.   Mrs. Burdg was visiting a daughter, Mrs. Rex Maitlen and suffered a stroke Tuesday morning which resulted in her death that afternoon.
  She was born in Millersburg, Ind. Jan 9, 1874, daughter of the late George Henry and Mary Catherine (Denney) Stowell.   She was united in marriage to Nate Burdg, former local business man, and he preceeded her in death Oct. 6, 1943.

  She is survived by the one daughter;  two sons, Howard Burdg, of Indianapolis; and Herbert, of Berne;  four grandchildren;  and three great-grandchildren, and one brother Edward R. Stowell, of Odin, Mich.
  She was an active member of the West Walnut street Church of Christ and served as president of the ladies aid society for 25 years.  She also was a member of the Eastern Star.

The body was returned to the Baird Funeral Home where friends may call.   Funeral services will be held there Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. A.N. Shockney of Fort Wayne, assisted by Rev. Marshall Weaver.   Interment will be in the Green Park Cemetery
