James Nelson* was born March 11, 1838, died at his
residence near Portland, July 14, 1887 aged 49 years, 4 months and 2 days. Mr.
Nelson was an honest, industrious man. He was in fellowship with his neighbors,
and a good Christian man. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. F. Stovenor,
of this city, in the presence of a large congregation of friends.
