Mrs. Julia Vilora Brunson, 81, died early
this morning at Kaweah Delta District hospital following a sudden illness. A
native of Jay county, 48 years ago and had lived in Porterville 42 years. Mrs.
Brunson was junior past noble grand of Golden Rod Rebekah lodge.
She had served two terms as
noble grand. She was also a
member of the First Congregational church; the Rebekah Sewing club, and
the Porterville Grange.
Mr. and Mrs. Brunson were married June 12, 1907, in Portland, Ind., and this
year would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include her husband, Harley Brunson of Porterville; three sons, Arthur
of Fair Oaks, Frank of Porterville,
and Jack Brunson of Los Almos; one daughter, Mrs. Verling Ramalho of Carpinteria;
a brother, Clifton Linton in Texas;
three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Wilson of West-Ministser, Mrs. Ruth Shultz in
Missouri and Mrs. Mary Grant of Porterville: eight grand-children; and 15 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 14, at the Myers chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial park
