Miss Leora Gladys Loy
Had Been Ill Eighteen Days
Typhoid fever claimed another victim, when Miss Leora Gladys Loy,
older daughter of Nelson and Florence Smith Loy died Friday morning at four
o'clock at the late home six and one-half miles northeast of Portland.
The child was taken ill eighteen days ago but her condition was not
considered serious until a day before she died.
Thursday she became unconscious, nervous symptoms developed and she grew
worse rapidly until relieved by death.
She was born in Jay county in the (sic) 1898 and at the time
of death was aged twelve years, six months and nine days. Besides the parents,
one sister, Leona, age eleven years survives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at one o'clock from the
Belmore Baptist church, in charge of Rev. Fred Stovenour.
Interment in Green Park cemetery.
