Jay County Obituaries

The following Obituary was in
The Commercial
Wednesday, April 3, 1901
Leota Ray, daughter of David and
Lydia Brunson, was born December
20, 1882, departed this life March
28, 1901; aged 18 years, 3 months
and 18 days.
'Ota was a kind, affectionate girl
and her kind disposition won her
many friends. She left an evidence
that she has gone to that better land.
Her last words were, "Oh, every-
thing is so bright, " and with a smile
she passed away. She leaves a fath-
er, mother, three brothers, two sis-
ters and a large circle of relatives
and friends to mourn their loss; but
their loss is her eternal gain.
  Funeral services conducted by
Martha B. Thornton, and buried at
West Grove Saturday, March 20.
Peaceful be thy silent slumber,
Peaceful in thy grave so low,
Thou no more will join our number,
Thou no more our sorrows know.
Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled,
And in heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tears are shed.
Bessie Brunson
