Mrs Stowell dies Sunday. Mrs. Mary Catharine Stowell, of West Walnut street,
passed away at her home Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, following an illness
due to the infirmities of old age. The deceased was born in Gallia county, Ohio,
January 30, 1846, being 74 years, 3 months, and 16 days of age. She was the
daughter of Edward and Margaret Denney, and had been a resident of Portland for
the past forty years. Surviving her, besides the husband, are one daughter, Mrs.
Nate Burdg, of Berne, and one son, Ed. Stowell, of this city.
