MARY E. FARBER died this morning at 10:00 o’clock at the home on
Hawkins avenue in this city, following an illness developing from infirmities of
age.
She was the wife of Curtis Farber and had spent the greater part of her
life in Jay county, residing in Portland during the last thirty-two years.
The deceased was a daughter of Skilmon and Sarah Breece, and was born at
Oxford, Ohio, May 24, 1844, being aged at the time of her death, 84 years, 6
months and 26 days. She was the last
surviving member of the parental family.
She is survived by the following
children: Roesilla Jane, wife of
John Freshwater, of one mile east of Bellefontaine;
Charles C. Farber, of this city;
Nancy L., wife of Henry Martin, of LaGrange;
John Oscar Farber, of Marion, and Ora Norman Farber of Portland.
One son preceded her in death.
She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great great
grandchild.
Jacob F. Farber, a grandson, has lived at the home since the death of his
father, ten years ago, and has assisted in caring for his grandmother.
Funeral
services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Antioch
church, southeast of this city. Rev. J. H. Nall, pastor of the Portland U.B.
church will officiate. Interment will be
made in the Antioch cemetery.
