Murray B. Payne

One of the five victims of Wednesday's traffic accident on Ind. 32 just west of Muncie was Murray B. "Budd" Payne, 48, 2110 S. Ebright St.  Born in Redkey and graduated from Redkey High School in 1942, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Payne was employed at Warner Gear 24 years and prior to that had been employed at Armstrong Glass Company in Dunkirk.  He attended Madison Street United Methodist Church and was a member of V.F.W. Post 651.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Flesher Payne; two sons, Michael Payne, Indianapolis, and Jeffrey Payne, U.S. Navy, Great Lakes, Ill.; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Payne, Redkey; his father, Jack W. Payne, Orlando, Fla.; and two brothers, Jack S. Payne, Redkey, and Roland Payne, Richmond.

Services will be held in Meeks Mortuary at 10 a.m. Saturday.  The place of internment will be announced later.
