 Services Held at West Liberty for Aged Portland Woman


Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 O'clock for Nina S. ( CROWELL) MILLER, who died at her home on East North street at 10:30o'clock Saturday morning. She had been ill for the past two weeks.  The deceased was born September 21, 1859 at Palestine in Darke County, Ohio, being at the time of her death 76 years, 11 months and 28 days. She was the daughter of Andrew and Sarah ( YOUNG ) MILLER and was united in marriage in 1882 to Leander W. MILLER, who died 43 years ago. The family lived at Liberty 28 years and in Portland the last 20 years.


Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William H. BETZ of Geneva; Mrs. Robert EDWARDS of Indianapolis; and Mrs. J.W. FISHER of South Bend; one son, Earl MILLER of northeast of Portland; two sisters, Mrs. Ann EAKINS; and Mrs. Laura  CROWELL of Greenville, Ill.; two brothers, Clarence CROWELL of Girard, Ill.; Sherman MILLER of Mulberry Grove, Ill.; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The husband, parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. 

The body was removed to the Baird Funerl Home. Funeral services were conducted from the West Liberty Christian Church in charge of Rev. Lee FISHER. Burial was made in Gravel Hill cemetry west of Bryant. Services were conducted on her seventy- seventh birthday anniversary
