Ruby Owens Dies; Native of Dunkirk

Hagerstown - Mrs. Ruby J. Owens, 74, 51 Graceland Heights Drive, died at her home early Monday morning.  She was a native of Dunkirk and had resided in Farmland prior to moving to Hagerstown 20 years ago.

She was a graduate of Redkey High School and Ball State University and was a member of the Hagerstown United Methodist Church and Hagerstown Chapter 196, Order of Eastern Star.  She was the past president of Hagerstown American Legion Auxiliary and of the Hagerstown Progressive Literary Club.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil W. Owens; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Beachler, and a son, Robert Owens, both of Hagerstown; four grandsons, and a sister, Mrs. Nora Barnell, Bradenton, Fla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Culberson-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Harry H. Hashberger and Rev. Donald Scott officiating.  Burial will be in Brick Cemetery near Hagerstown.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and before services Thursday.  American Legion Auxiliary memorial services will be conducted at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday
