“Obituary: Died, Sarah Jones Swallow Bronson+ (+change
of spelling or typo error)
Sarah who
was born in Montgomery Co., Ohio, on
December 4, 1814, and died Dec. 4, 1889, 75 years.
She was the daughter of Samuel and Nancy Jones and married to John
Swallow in 1833 or 34. By her first
marriage she had 5 children, 3 are deceased and 2 are living, Harrison Swallow
and Mrs. McDermott, John Swallow died in Montgomery Co. in 1840.
Sarah
then married Timothy Bronson in Montgomery Co. about 1844.
They had 8 children, 6 are living, 4 sons and 2 daughters.
Her second husband moved to Jay County in 1859 where she resided until
last October when she came to Winchester to spend the winter with her son
Harrison. Her husband Timothy
Bronson, died on September 23, 1870.
She joined the Christian church in Montgomery Co., about 40 years ago.
She was buried at Yorkshire, Ohio, after the sermon by Elder I. P. Watts
of Winchester.”
