 Truman E. Lillard, 78, 475 E. Maple Street, Pennville, died Wednesday morning in the Mercer County Community Hopsital, Coldwater, Ohio. 

Born February 4, 1925 in Laclede County, Missouri to Daniel J. and Lottie  (Rogers) Lillard he married Janet M. Bond on April 4, 1980.  She survives. 

A World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the South Pacific, he retired in 1985 from the Jay County Highway Department after 17 years of service. 

He was a member of the Saratoga V.F.W., the Portland D.A.V. and A.A. and the Lighthouse Tabernacle, Dunkirk. 

Other survivors include one son, Daniel Lillard, Frankfurt, Germany, two daughters, Linda K. Lugar and Mrs. Gale (Pam) Hensley, both of Portland, three step-children, three brothers, Don Lillard, Lebanon, Mo., Lowell  Lillard, Alexandria, and Joseph Lillard, Hartford City; two sisters, Edith  Montgomery, Chiefland, Fla., and Ann Murrell, Hartford City; 4 grandchildren  and 2 great-grandchilden. 

Services are Monday at 11 a.m. in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Thomas officiating. 

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Twin Hills Cemetery east of Pennville. 

Full military rites will be conducted.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
