 Death Claims Dennis Ashley

 Jay County Farmer dies at Jay County Hospital Wednesday

 W. Dennis Ashley, residing three miles southeast of Portland, died at the Jay County hospital Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 o’clock following a 10-days illness of heart trouble and pneumonia.  The deceased was born November 24, 1864 in Pike township the son of Warren and Christina (Bickle) Ashley and was a life-long resident of Jay County.  He was united in marriage August 25, 1888 to Theodosia Miller who survives.Other survivors include 10 children, Ora Ashley at home, Mrs. Otto Haines of Liber, Truman Ashley of Green Township, Mrs. Floyd Smith of Jackson township, William (Bid) Ashley of Bearcreek township, Mrs. C.O. Sanders of Muncie, Mrs. Max Hall of Killbuck, Ohio, Cleo Ashley of Indianpolis, Mrs. Arlo Marsh of Union City and Garland Ashley of Muncie, 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock at the Lower Salamonia Church in charge of Rev. H. R. Ferner.  Interment in the church cemetery.  The body was removed from the Baird Funeral home to the residence Thursday afternoon.
