William H. Nelson*, one of the oldest residents of this county, is dead at his home southeast of Como, the result of injuries received when kicked by his horse late Friday afternoon. Mr. Nelson had taken his horse into the stable and had gone behind the horse to fasten the door when the animal kicked, striking him in the chest and head. The aged man died from the injuries about thirty minutes later. Mr. Nelson has lived practically his whole life in Jay County though born in Jackson County, O. He celebrated his seventy-ninth birthday anniversary only Thursday of this week. He is survived by his widow, his brother George Nelson at Portland and the following children all of whom live in the county: George and Will Nelson both at home, Charles Nelson and Mrs. Mary Lanning, both of Portland, and Ruth Hahn of Como. Funeral Services will be held Sunday afternoon, the funeral cortage leaving at 12 o'clock and going to the Como Christian Church where at 12:30 o'clock services will be held with Rev. Oren of Albany officiating. Burial will be made at Claycomb Cemetery.
