The Commercial Review - Thursday, Sept. 11, 1907
Winnie Anne Hawkins, daughter of Miles O. and
Elizabeth Long, was born Oct. 4, 1862, and died Sept. 5, 1902, age 39 years, 11
months and 1 day.
She was wed to William Hawkins April 14, 1883. One daughter
was born to this union and preceded her in the spirit land.
She united with the Friends Church at Bluff Point at the age of 14
years, and was still a member and supporter of the same at her death.
By her kindly words and actions she won many friends who remain to mourn
her loss, but feel she has gained an eternal home at God's right hand.
Death did me short warning give
Therefore be careful how you live.
My weeping friends I left behind,
I had no time to speak my mind.
Funeral was held at the residence Sunday at 2 p.m. conducted by
Rev. H.B. Bosworth. Interment at Antioch cemetery. To those
who so kindly assisted us in the sickness and dearth of our beloved wife and
daughter we offer our sincere thanks.
