Services Held Today For Oma D. Barker
      Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev.
Janice Heseman at Eskew Funeral Home for Oma D. Barker, 86, a resident of
the Franklin Health Care Center the past three and a half years who died
Saturday at Johnson County Memorial Hospital.  She was the widow of
Benjamin H. Barker who died Jan. 20, 1972.
      Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Stanley
Barker, Gordon Barker, Terry Barker, George Barker, William E. Barker, and
Roger Records.
      Mrs. Barker was born Dec. 1, 1893, in Shelby County the daughter of George
and Cora Moore Drake.  On May 10, 1917, she was married to Mr. Barker and
the couple lived north of Edinburgh.  She was a member of the Jollity
United Methodist Church and the WomenÕs Society of Christian Service of
the Church.
      Survivors include two children, Howard Barker, Franklin route 5, and Marie
Moran, Franklin; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  She was
preceded in death by two sons, Harold Barker, Nov. 1, 1970, and Dale
McClain, July 4, 1961.
