Clara L. Bowman

    Clara L. Bowman, 82, died
Friday, April 14, 2000, in
Fountaintown. She was a resident
of Boggstown.
    She was born Sept. 19, 1917, in
Jackson County. Her parents were
Oscar and Bessie (Satterwhite)
Bryan. She married Ivan Bowman
on June 19, 1939. He preceded her
in death Nov. 12, 1991. Survivors
include a son, Marvin E. Bowman
of Boggstown; a daughter, Patsy J.
(Bowman) Davenport of Boggs-
town; three grandchildren; four
stepgrandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-
grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by a brother and a sister.
    She was employed for 21 years
by Boggstown Post Office as a
postmaster, retiring in 1981.
    A service will be conducted at 10
a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow
and Weaver Funeral Home on
Jonathan Moore Pike in Colum-
bus. Friends may call from 4 to 8
p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until
service time Wednesday at the
funeral home. A graveside service
will be conducted at 1 p.m.
Wednesday at Austin Cemetery.
