Phyllis A. Bowman
    Phyllis A. Bowman, 73, died
Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Todd-
Aikens Health Center in Franklin.
She was a resident of Franklin.
    She was born Feb. 1, 1930, in
Shelbyville. Her parents were
Doyle and Dorothy (Courner)
Thurston. She married Jack
Eugene Bowman on March 5,
1949. He preceded her in death
April 29, 2001. Survivors include a
son, Kevin T. Bowman of Ind-
ianapolis; a brother, Keith B.
Thurston of Shelbyville; and two
grandchildren.
    She was employed in the
Franklin College Administrative
Office until her retirement in 1993.
    She volunteered at Johnson
Memorial Hospital and attended
Shiloh Church in Franklin.
    A service will be conducted at 1
p.m. Monday at Carmony-Ewing
Funeral Home, 819 S. Harrison St.
in Shelbyville. Friends may call
from noon until the time of the
service Monday at the funeral
home. Burial will be at Forest
Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be
made to American Society for
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
at ASPCA Processing Center, P.O.
Box 2042, Tom's River, NJ 08754-
9925.
