Mary Elizabeth Breeding
Mary Elizabeth (Brickey) Breeding, 97, died
Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at her residence in Franklin.
She was a former resident of Edinburgh.
She was born Sept. 17, 1906, in Edinburgh. Her
parents were Charles William and Martha Ann
(Campbell) Brickey. She married Earl Theodore
Breeding on March 4, 1926, in Edinburgh. He
preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1992. Survivors
include a daughter, Wilma L. Bingham of Franklin;
seven grandchildren, David Bingham of Chicago,
Daniel Bingham, Debi Macy, Marcia Smurthwaite
and Karen Devalal, all of Franklin, Joe Vandivier
of Bloomington and Donna Richards of Nineveh;
13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by a son, Donald Dale Breeding; a daughter,
Patricia Ann Vandivier; two brothers, Ira and Arthur
Brickey; and two sisters, Eva Brickey and Letha
Shoemaker.
She attended Edinburgh High School.
She was a homemaker and a clerk for Lords
Dress Shop in Franklin. She was also employed by
Jay C Grocery Store in Franklin.
She was a member of Edinburgh United Methodist
Church before transferring to Grace United Methodist
Church in Franklin where she was a member of
Crusaders Sunday School class.
She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, crocheting and
jigsaw puzzles.
The Rev. Glen Beck will conduct a service at 1 p.m.
Saturday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, 951 N.
Main St. in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8
p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at
Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
