Luther R. Burton
      The Rev. Douglas Smith conducted funeral 
services Monday at 1:00 at Eskew Funeral Home 
for Luther R. Burton, 58, of Edinburgh who died 
early Thursday morning at Veterans Hospital in 
Indianapolis.  An Army Veteran of World War II, 
he had been ill some time.
      Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery with James 
W. Smith, Robert G. Smith, Billy R. Smith, Roy L. 
Madden, Alfred Madden and Robert Meeks serving 
as pallbearers.
      Mr. Burton was born at Columbia, Ky., September 
6, 1922, the son of Wheeler and Ossie Burton.  He was 
formerly married to Martha Bryant.
      Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Meeks 
of Edinburgh and Sue Green of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, 
William (Rusty) Burton of Edinburgh; three sisters, 
Barbara Rhude, Juanita Caldwell and Pearl Burton 
all of Edinburgh, 10 grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
