Thelma Burton Rites Saturday
Funeral service for Thelma Burton, 72,
of 334 Elm at Hope, will be conducted by
the Rev. Ralph Turney at 10 a.m. Saturday
at Norman Funeral Home at Hope, where
persons may call from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery at
Edinburgh.
Mrs. Burton died at 9 a.m. Wednesday
at Bartholomew County Hospital after being
in failing health several years. She was the
wife of Archie Burton.
Mrs. Burton was born at Edinburgh Feb.
14, 1910, the daughter of William and Mary
Dyke Clark. She was married to Burton June
8, 1929.
She was a member of St. Louis Crossing
Independent Methodist Church, Friendly
Neighbors Extension Homemakers Club and
Women's Christian Temperance Union.
Surviving with her husband are five
children, James and Donald Burton of Hope,
Kenneth Burton of Greensburg, Diana Bennett
of San Diego, Calif., and Patsy Barker of La
Mesa, Calif.; three sisters, Lucille Gilbert and
Martha Davis of Edinburgh, and Daisy Odem
of Arizona; four brothers, Kenneth Clark of
Columbus, Maurice and Donald Clark of Edin-
burgh and Walter Clark of Hope, nine grand-
children and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included George Glick,
Gary Christy, Tom Beeker and David, Richard
and Tom Thayer.
Mrs. Burton died Wednesday at Bartho-
lomew County Hospital.
