David Chandler Dies Today
      David Matthew Chandler of 517 S. 
Walnut Street died at 11:55 A.M. this 
morning at his home.  He was injured 
at Camp Atterbury some time ago in a 
      Funeral arrangements have not 
been announced.  They body was 
taken to the Mutz Funeral Home.
      Mr. Chandler, who has lived in 
Edinburg many years and was 
employed at the Webb Company, 
was born June 26, 1886 in Bartho-
lomew County.  His parents were
 Thomas and Jane Coy Chandler.
      On March 8, 1908 he married 
Maggie Alice Richardson who survives.
      Two children, Donald and Homer, 
precede in death.
      Surviving children are Mrs. Moses 
Lain, Merrill and Jackie Chandler of 
Edinburg; Mrs. Catherine Spahr, 
Seymour; Otto Chandler and Mrs. 
Lewis Rice of New Albany.
      Brothers and sisters are Mrs. 
Emma Hedger and Lora Chandler 
of Edinburg; and a half-brother, 
Lewis Chandler of Muncie.  Mrs. 
William Strawmeier of Franklin is 
an aunt.
      There are 21 grandchildren and 
a great grandson.
