Arthur G. Cobb Rites Announced
Arthur G. Cobb, of Nineveh, died
in the Robert W. Long Hospital at Indian-
apolis Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock.
Mr. Cobb underwent major surgery
in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital
where he was a patient for two weeks
and was later taken to the Indianapolis
hospital where he died after 11 days.
Funeral services are to be conducted
in the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home at 2
o'clock Friday afternoon with the Rev. B.
A. Lawrence, pastor of the Nineveh Christian
Church, in charge of the services. Burial
will be made in the Nineveh Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home
after 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon and until
time for the services. They are invited to
attend the rites.
Native of County
The son of Laura Belle Hardin Cobb
and the late Edward E. Cobb, Mr. Cobb was
born Aug. 28, 1903, in Johnson County. He
was educated in the Nineveh school where
he graduated in 1922.
On April 12, 1934, he was married
to Elva G. Goetz at Columbus. They were
the parents of two children.
Mr. Cobb had spent his life at Nineveh
with the exception of six years where he was
on the West Coast. He was a boiler fireman
by trade.
His interests were sports, fishing and hunting.
The survivors are the widow, a son,
John Thomas Cobb, a daughter, Mrs. Laura Alice
Hash; and a step-son, James Robert Forsythe.
Others remaining are three grandchildren,
Johnny Cobb, Lisa and Karen Hash; two brothers
and two sisters, Frank Cobb, of Terre Haute;
Mrs. Elizabeth Graves, of Greenwood; Maurice
Cobb and Mrs. Catherine Cole, of Nineveh.
