Dorothy E. "Dottie" Compton
      Dorothy E. "Dottie" Compton, 96, died Thursday, 
Dec. 16, 2004, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Franklin.  She 
was a resident of Edinburgh.
      She was born Dec. 13, 1908, in Anna, Ohio.  Her parents were 
Raymond P. and Clystia B. (Brown) Anspaugh.  She married Roy 
D. Compton on Jan. 26, 1939.  He preceded her in death May 11, 
1951.  Survivors include a sister, Bebe Adele Dinwiddie of Houston, 
Texas; and several nieces and nephews, including Clystia Barr of 
Alabaster, Ala., Janet Compton of Waldron and Thomas Colford 
of Edinburgh.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine C. 
"Jerry" Colford.
      She formerly owned Compton Dairy in Edinburgh.
      She was a member of Columbia Club in Indianapolis, former 
member and president of Edinburgh Tri Kappa, former Republican 
precinct committeewoman and former member of Tri Kappa Associates.  
She was of the Lutheran faith.
      The Rev. Mike Whited will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Saturday 
at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.  Friends may call from 6 to 
8 p.m. today at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. 
in Edinburgh.
