Lola F. Fitzpatrick, 92, died Saturday at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of Clark Township.
She was born March 9, 1896, in Johnson County to Ezekial H. Hommel and Eliza Frances (Conway) Hommel. She was married Feb. 5, 1928, in Frankfort to Charles Ray Fitzpatrick. He died Oct. 1, 1973.
Survivors include a son, Max R. Fitzpatrick of Whiteland; a daughter, Wilma Fitzpatrick Medsker of Marietta; a brother, Fred O. Hommel of Needham; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A lifelong Johnson County resident, she attended Needham schools. She was a correspondent for the Daily Journal and the now-defunct Franklin Evening Star, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of the Needham United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 76 years and was a member of the church’s Women’s Society. She was a 50-year member of the Clark Township Home Ec Club.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Kirkwood officiating. Friends may call today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin.
