Well Known Franklin Grocer
Passes Away at His Home
on N. Yandes Street

Robert Mann Hamblen, age 55, for many years a highly respected merchant, passed away at his home, on North Yandes Street, Monday morning, at eight o'clock. Mr. Hamblen had been ill for several weeks, but was able to be up Sunday. He died in bed Monday morning.

Mr. Hamblen was born in Brown County on Oct. 22, 1877, and after spending several years in Oklahoma, came to Franklin twenty-three years ago. He had been in the grocery business since that time and had gained many friends, to whom the news of his passing comes as a distinct shock.

He was the son of Williamson and Eunice L. Collins Hamblen. The surviving relatives are his mother, Mrs. Eunice Hamblen; two brothers, A. P. Hamblen and Emmett Hamblen, of Franklin; a sister, Hetty A. Hamblen, of Franklin; two nephews, J. B. Hamblen, of Whiting, and Estel Lamb, of Boswell, and two nieces, Mrs. Mabel Mayfield, of Franklin, and Mrs. T. G. Westfall, of Detroit, Mich. One sister, Mrs. Leona Lamb, preceded him in death.

Members of the family have requested that no flowers be sent. Mr. Hamblen was a member of the Methodist Church of Oklahoma and of several fraternal orders, including the Red Men, Haymakers, L.O.O.M. and Pocahontas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock from the Grace M.E. Church.
