Dale ’Pete’ Hickey
Dale "Pete" Hickey, 90, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Four Seasons Healthcare Center in Columbus. He was a resident of Columbus and a former resident of Edinburgh.
He was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Bartholomew County. His parents were John Edward and Frances Elizabeth (Cook) Hickey. He married Alice Elizabeth (Stilabower) Hickey on May 21, 1937. She preceded him in death April 18, 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Julia Richards of Edinburgh; a grandson, Andy Richards of Edinburgh; a granddaughter, Dana Richards of Akron, Ohio; and four great-grandchildren.
He was a 1933 Edinburgh High School graduate and attended Chicago Technical College.
He retired in 1976 after 40 years at National Lead in Edinburgh, where he was an engineer.
He was a member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church, Lions Club and Edinburgh Masonic Lodge 100 F&AM.
The Rev. Byron Fritz will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
