England of Edinburgh, died at 1:35 p.m. Friday at Bartholomew County
Hospital. He had been in poor health three years.
Services were held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver
Funeral Home in Columbus by the Rev. Roger Lee. Burial was at Garland
Brook Cemetery.
An employee of Sap's Bakery and member of the Baptist Church, Mr. England
was born October 16, 1917, in Metcalfe County, Ky., to Charles William and
Valley Jessie England. He married Dorothy Shirley Dec. 24, 1935, and she
survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Roger England of Columbus and Lester
England of Edinburgh; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Whittington of
Columbus, Mrs. Russell Coy, Route 10 and Mrs. Michael Ferrenburg, Route
9, Columbus; four brothers, Thomas and Curtis England of Kentucky, Bob
England of Columbus and Enos England of Indianapolis; four sisters, Mrs.
Lannie Jesse of Columbus, Elvira Smith and Regina Edwards of Edmonton,
Ky., and Corine Poynter of Knoblitt, Ky; 17 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.

William E. England, 60, 1118 Grand, died at 1:35 a.m. today at Bartholomew
County Hospital. He had been in ill health three years.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Inlow and
Weaver Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Lee. Persons may call from 2 to 9
p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral
home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
England was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Metcalfe County, Ky., to Charles
William and Valley Jessie England. He married Dorothy Shirley Dec. 24,
1935, and she survives. He was an employee of Sap's Bakery and a member
of the Baptist Church.

of Edinburgh; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Whittington of 2014 14th, Mrs.
Russell Coy of Route 10 and Mrs. Michael Ferrenburg of Route 9; four

Wallace and Enos England of Indianapolis; four sisters, Mrs. Lannie Jesse
of 13th Street, Elvira Smith and Regina Edwards, both of Edmonton, Ky.,
and Corine Poynter of Knoblitt, Ky; 17 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
