MADISON COUNTY CEMETERY COMMISSION
In 1986, new Indiana Law provided for the appointment of county cemetery commissions in the State by the various County Commissioners. Since that time, Madison County has had a Cemetery Commission appointed by the County Commissioners. However, prior to that time, the County Historical Society had provided for a committee through which the various cemetery issues were being addressed.
The Cemetery Commission
is very active and is funded through County Funds. The Commission works
with the various Trustees in the Townships to get the cemeteries under their
care mowed and cleaned. The chairman of the Commission at the present
time is John Brundage.
