Morocco Courier Obituary Abstractions 1929-1952
Hale, Murl R., son of James R. and Sally (McQueen) Hale b September 30, 1888
near Papeneau, IL d San Francisco at the Southern Pacific Railroad Hospt. on
August 14, 1930 ae 41y 10m 14d. His mother passed away when he was 5 years of
age. Came to Morocco at the age of 7 to live with his father and his
step-mother, Laura (Brown) Hale. Attended school here. In 1902 he went with
his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Carmichael to Days Creek, Oregon where
he lived until 1907 and worked for his father on various dredge boats as
fireman. At ae 20 went with a cousin, John Frogge, to L.A. where he secured a
position as fireman with the Siouthern Pacific Railroad. Mr. and Mrs. Tipton
McQueen, and uncle of the deceased.
