Summers Cemetery, Lauramie Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana

Most of the people buried in this cemetery carry that last name, Summers.  The three stones pictured below are the exception.  I believe the relationship to the Summers family comes through the Ford women.  One of the Summers has the maiden name Ford written on her stone, making me believe she was a sister to Andrew's wives, Mary and Sarah.

I also want to say a special thank you to Larry Schmidt.  For many, many years Larry has owned the house where this tiny cemetery stands in the barnyard.  For all those years Larry and his family have cared for that cemetery in a way that should put our township trustees to shame.  Larry has shown a great respect to the final resting place of these people who are strangers to him, as well as a great respect to the descendents of these people as he welcomes them to visit the cemetery whenever they please.  He's a wonderful man and thanks to him and his family the place looks beautiful!

Andrew Crouch
Died
Nov. 18, 1871
Aged 50 Yrs.

This date is actually an error.  Andrew was born in 1819 in Ohio.  He was married three times, first to Mary Ford on April 13, 1843, second to her sister Sarah Ford on July 17, 1845, and third to Rebecca Collins on March 20, 1851, all in Tippecanoe County.  I believe Andrew came from Ross County, Ohio, but haven't confirmed this yet.

Sarah
Wife of A. Crouch
Died
May 12, 1847
Aged 21 Yrs. 9 M. 1 D.

Sarah appears to have had a daughter named Mary in 1846.  Mary survived, but did not live with her father until after his remarriage to Rebecca Collins.

Eliza J.
Wife of R. W. Louk
Died
July 1, 1852
Aged
24 Yrs. 27 Ds.

Eliza is a sister of Sarah Ford-Crouch and also Mary Ford-Crouch, Andrew's first wife who is buried in Harshbarger Cemetery.
